Fondazione Tim launches call for inclusive museum tech

institutional · 2026-05-04

Fondazione Tim has announced a new call for proposals titled 'L’arte che accoglie: inclusione nei musei attraverso l’utilizzo di tecnologie innovative', aimed at developing technological systems to make Italian museums accessible to people with perceptual and sensory disabilities. The foundation, active since 2008 in ethical initiatives related to innovation, education, cultural heritage, and social empowerment, seeks projects using AI algorithms, immersive technologies, 3D printing, voice systems, augmented and virtual reality, and multisensory and tactile paths. The selected project will receive up to €300,000 in funding. The call is open to public and private non-profit entities until September 3, 2019. Italy has 4,889 museums and similar institutions, the largest cultural heritage in the world, but accessibility remains a challenge. The initiative aims to create a replicable model of inclusive technologies based on design-for-all principles, to be disseminated nationwide.
