Fondazione The Plot Debuts with Neuroscience-Inspired Art Exhibition in Turin
Fondazione The Plot, a new foundation established in Milan in January 2025 by artist Giangiacomo Rocco di Torrepadula (born 1966 in Naples), announces its first exhibition, The Plot #1, opening May 28, 2025 at Spazio Musa in Turin. The foundation focuses on exploring behavioral neuroscience through visual arts, operating through events, exhibitions, and participatory workshops in schools. The exhibition showcases works created by students from participating schools—Istituto Comprensivo Antonelli Casalegno (Turin), Scuola Internazionale di Comics (Turin and Milan campuses), and Istituto Ven. A Luzzago (Brescia)—who attended workshops led by Rocco di Torrepadula on topics such as stereotypes, biases, and fake news, using insights from behavioral neuroscience. A selection of postcards from the A Postcard for Floyd project, initiated by Rocco after George Floyd's 2020 death in Minneapolis, will also be displayed. That mail art project, which solicited reflections on racism, received over 500 contributions from figures including Michelangelo Pistoletto, Oliviero Toscani, Max Casacci (Subsonica), Andy (Bluvertigo), Gad Lerner, Cristina Capotondi, Maurizio Galimberti, and Maurizio De Giovanni. In 2024, the project was published as a book by Skira, with art direction by Pier Paolo Pitacco. The foundation's educational activities emphasize listening and empathy as solutions, using behavioral neuroscience and artistic practice to foster new perspectives.
