Fondazione Scuola dei Beni Culturali presenta ricerca su professionisti del patrimonio

On Thursday, February 18, 2021, the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali held an online conference titled "Saperi e competenze per il patrimonio culturale. Profili e formazione" to present research findings on training and professionalism in cultural heritage management. The research, conducted in 2020, analyzed rapid changes in museums and cultural institutions, focusing on sustainability, environment, and territorial development. It was divided into two strands: one examined the entry of graduates into the cultural heritage workforce (in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at Sapienza University of Rome), and the other was a statistical survey of over 900 cultural venues (museums, libraries, archives, archaeological parks, monumental complexes, Italian Capitals of Culture) conducted with Troisi Ricerche s.r.l. and CLES s.r.l. The foundation participates in CHARTER, a four-year Erasmus+ project aimed at creating a coordinated EU strategy. Key findings revealed that while roles like archaeological heritage manager, librarian, and archivist are well-established, positions related to public services (education, communication, registrar) remain underdeveloped. Access to directorial roles now requires advanced degrees and soft skills.
