Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Opens New Space on San Giacomo Island, Venice
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo announced the opening of a new multidisciplinary space on the island of San Giacomo in Venice, set to debut in April 2022 alongside the 59th Venice Biennale. The inaugural exhibition will be a solo show by Brazilian artist Jota Mombaça (born 1991, Natal), curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist. The island, located between Venice and Burano, will host projects in theater, cinema, music, architecture, and research, emphasizing sustainability and circularity. The foundation also celebrates 30 years of its collection in 2022, with exhibitions planned at CAAC in Seville and Museo Patio Herreriano in Valladolid starting June, and a November show at its Turin headquarters featuring works by Lawrence Abu Hamdan and Victor Man. Other 2022 activities include ongoing exhibitions in Madrid and Turin, a Young Curators Residency Programme, and site-specific sculptures by Stefano Arienti, Stefano Boeri, and Katja Novitskova at the Parco d'Arte Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Guarene.
