Fondazione Sabe for Art in Ravenna Opens Photography Exhibition 'In suspensus'

Founded in 2021, Fondazione Sabe per l’arte in Ravenna has established itself as a reference point for contemporary art, with a focus on sculpture. In 2024, the exhibition space expanded into photography, exploring its intersections with plastic and spatial research. This gave rise to 'In suspensus', a group show curated by Angela Madesani that brings together artists Carlo Benvenuto, Enrico Cattaneo, and Elena Modorati around the theme of still life. The exhibition, on view until April 7, 2024, features works suspended in time and space, transforming everyday objects into art. It includes perceptual short-circuits triggered by Modorati's sculptures, traces of reality captured by Benvenuto's lens, and Cattaneo's series of prints titled 'Morandine', which explicitly reference the compositional and poetic style of Bolognese painter Giorgio Morandi. Madesani describes the exhibition as a dialogue among the three artists and a fourth absent figure—Morandi—acting as a 'stone guest'. The curatorial approach emphasizes imitation as a path to knowledge through engagement with objectual phenomena.
