Fondazione Ratti acquisisce la collezione di Seth Siegelaub

The Antonio Ratti Foundation in Como has just acquired the impressive library and textile collection of Seth Siegelaub, a key figure in contemporary art who lived from 1941 to 2013. This collection features 9,000 books and 723 items, including tools, ritual objects, headgear, clothing, carpets, and fabrics from around the globe. It's noteworthy that this library holds the largest collection of textile literature in the world, alongside works covering Marxist political theory, economic history, quantum physics, anthropology, philosophy, art, and craftsmanship. The donation came from Siegelaub’s heir, Marja Bloem. This acquisition strengthens the Foundation's connection with Siegelaub, who had expressed a desire for a permanent home for his collection back in 2012. The Foundation is committed to preserving and promoting this unique heritage.
