Fondazione Prada Launches Human Brains Project with International Conferences

Fondazione Prada has initiated a three-year multidisciplinary project titled 'Human Brains,' featuring a series of four conferences held from November 9 to 13, 2020, on an online platform. The project aims to explore the human brain by integrating scientific rigor with creative languages beyond contemporary art, culminating in an exhibition curated by Udo Kittelmann at the 59th Venice Biennale in 2022. The 2020 theme is 'Culture and Consciousness,' examining consciousness as the basis of culture through neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy, medicine, anthropology, and art. The Scientific Board includes Jubin Abutalebi, Massimo Cacciari, Viviana Kasam, Udo Kittelmann, Andrea Moro, and Daniela Perani, with speakers such as Mavi Sanchez-Vives, Jean-Pierre Changeux, Giancarlo Comi, Eve Marder, and Antonio Damasio. The conferences attracted a global audience, reflecting the structural and functional variability of human brains. The second phase in 2021 will feature an international conference and an exhibition involving major neuroscience research institutes and artists.
