Fondazione Prada Launches Advanced Cinema Seminar in Venice

Fondazione Prada's Venice venue will host 'Belligerent Eyes | 5K Confinement,' an advanced seminar on cinema conceived by Luigi Alberto Cippini with Giovanni Fantoni Modena. Fifteen young participants from academic backgrounds worldwide will engage in closed-door theoretical and practical discussions. Public events begin May 27 with John Palmesino and Ann-Sofi Rönnskog of Territorial Agency, joined by Sarat Maharaj. Subsequent open sessions feature Christian Marazzi and Sylvère Lotringer with Trevor Plagen (June 9), Marazzi with Mauricio Gris (June 24), neuroscientist Vittorio Gallese (July 8), and a teletransmitted experiment coinciding with the 73rd Venice Film Festival (September 2). The initiative extends Prada's longstanding cinematic engagement, which includes restoring and publishing ten films for a 'Secret History of Russian Cinema' (2006), similar projects on Asian (2005) and Italian (2004) cinema, and collaboration with the Tribeca Film Festival. The seminar has no direct productive aim, focusing instead on advanced theoretical and practical exchange.
