Fondazione Prada launches €1.5M film fund for independent cinema

institutional · 2026-04-26

In the fall of 2025, Fondazione Prada will launch the Fondazione Prada Film Fund, an annual initiative worth €1.5 million aimed at promoting independent cinema. This fund will choose between 10 to 12 feature-length projects, prioritizing originality, quality, and vision. Paolo Moretti will lead the initiative, which was created in collaboration with Rebecca De Pas. Its goal is to assist projects in various stages, including development, production, and post-production, while encouraging interdisciplinary connections. Miuccia Prada emphasized that cinema serves as a space for innovative ideas. This initiative is a continuation of Fondazione Prada's 20-year involvement in cinema, which includes partnerships with the Tribeca Film Festival and Venice Biennale. Furthermore, starting September 18, 2025, an immersive exhibition by Alejandro Iñárritu will delve into his film Amores Perros (2000).
