Fondazione Prada and MUBI Launch 'Perfect Failures' Streaming Series of Box Office Flops

Fondazione Prada has partnered with the arthouse streaming platform MUBI to launch 'Perfect Failures,' a curated selection of films that were initially critical or commercial failures. Starting April 5, the series will be available on MUBI's channel, featuring movies by renowned directors such as Billy Wilder, Charlie Chaplin, Chantal Akerman, Paul Verhoeven, Richard Kelly, and Kelly Reichardt. The initiative aims to reconsider these misunderstood works, arguing that initial reception does not determine a film's ultimate value. The project will be accompanied by a new section on Fondazione Prada's website, which will publish exclusive content, including materials on the selected films and directors. Fondazione Prada's physical spaces are closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. MUBI is available in 190 countries with over 9 million subscribers. The selected films include 'Southland Tales' (Richard Kelly, 2006), 'Fedora' (Billy Wilder, 1978), 'Night Moves' (Kelly Reichardt, 2013), 'A Couch in New York' (Chantal Akerman, 1996), 'A Countess from Hong Kong' (Charlie Chaplin, 1967), and 'Showgirls' (Paul Verhoeven, 1995).
