Fondazione Potenza Tamini Opens in Venice to Support Young Designers
In Venice, a new foundation dedicated to the work of master Gianmaria Potenza (Venice, 1936) and the support of young creative talents has been established. The Fondazione Potenza Tamini is located in the historic atelier of the Venetian sculptor and designer, who founded the glassworks La Murrina in 1968. The foundation will preserve and transmit Potenza's work while supporting emerging artists. Events begin April 6, 2024, including exhibitions, book presentations, workshops, and an educational program for art students. The initiative was launched by Potenza's partner, collector Josie Mackwitz Tamini, who transformed the atelier spaces at Dorsoduro 1450 into a foundation. Valeria Loddo, former artistic director of Studio Gianmaria Potenza, has been appointed artistic director. The foundation aims to become a cultural reference point in Venice, collaborating with major city institutions.
