Fondazione Modena Arti Visive Unveils 2018 Program

A new synergy among three major Modena institutions—Galleria Civica, Fondazione Fotografia, and Museo della Figurina—has led to the creation of the Fondazione Modena Arti Visive (FMAV). Under the direction of Diana Baldon, the foundation presents a rich 2018 program featuring international artists like Ad Reinhardt and Sharon Lockhart, as well as Italian talents Adelita Husni-Bey and others. Highlights include an exhibition of Reinhardt's satirical cartoons, rarely seen in Italy, and a show titled 'A cosa serve l'utopia' showcasing the Galleria's collections. The Museo della Figurina will host 'World Masterpiece Theater' on Japanese comics. Collaborations include Mudam Luxembourg, the Ad Reinhardt Foundation of New York, and FestivalFotografia Europea 2018 in Reggio Emilia. Mayor Gian Carlo Muzzarelli emphasized the cultural policy's role in attracting tourism, while FMAV president Gino Lugli highlighted the public-private partnership. The foundation aims to coordinate activities across three distinct brands under a unified governance.
