Fondazione Modena Arti Visive retrospective traces Luigi Ghirri's photographic journey
Fondazione Modena Arti Visive (FMAV) is hosting a retrospective dedicated to Luigi Ghirri (Scandiano, 1943 – Roncocesi, 1992), tracing his artistic journey from his early days to the late 1980s. The exhibition emphasizes Ghirri's influence within the Scuola italiana di paesaggio, featuring works from that era. In 1989, he released Paesaggio Italiano and Il profilo delle nuvole. In the early 1980s, he was commissioned by the French Ministry of Culture to capture images of the Palace of Versailles. The display also includes photographs from a 1984 Touring Club Italiano publication on Emilia-Romagna and images of Cimitero nuovo San Cataldo di Modena. Ghirri previously showcased Colazione sull'erba at Galleria Civica di Modena and worked on music albums like CCCP – Fedeli alla linea and Lucio Dalla.
