Fondazione Merz opens ZACentrale project space in Palermo with inaugural group show

Fondazione Merz has unveiled ZACentrale, a new 1,560 sqm project space in Palermo's Zisa Zona Arti Contemporanee (ZAC), part of the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa cultural district. The inaugural exhibition, “L’altro, lo stesso” (The Other, the Same), runs through March 27, 2022, featuring works from artists like Lida Abdul, Lawrence Weiner, and Marisa Merz, alongside contributions from local talent. ZACentrale aims to host a variety of events, such as exhibitions, theater performances, dance, concerts, and educational programs. A public arts library called TALEA Library will also be created. In partnership with the Artissima fair, Fondazione Merz plans to introduce an international residency prize for up-and-coming Mediterranean artists, highlighting sustainable cultural practices.
