Fondazione Malutta collective takes over Monitor gallery in Rome

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Monitor gallery in Rome has been rebranded as Fondazione Malutta, showcasing a collective of more than 30 artists from Italy and abroad, aged between 25 and 35. This imaginative foundation, initiated in Venice by alumni of the local academy, functions as a collaborative platform where personal artistic inquiries intertwine with collective creativity. Until March 4, 2017, the venue at Via Sforza Cesarini 43a-44 will serve as an unstructured, open space for artistic exploration, moving away from traditional gallery norms. Director Paola Capata emphasizes the project's distinctive collaborative nature in Italy. The launch included a flea market to ensure no single artist overshadowed others, encouraging spontaneous discovery of artworks. Participants include Giuseppe Abate, Beatrice Alici, and many more. Established in 2009, the collective seeks to reflect social transformations through art, with members from various countries including Albania, Serbia, and France.
