institutional · 2026-04-26

Fondazione Lac o Le Mon, founded in 2015 by the Lu Cafausu group (Emilio Fantin, Luigi Negro, Giancarlo Norese, Cesare Pietroiusti, Luigi Presicce), is launching a new residency and workshop program at Casa Cafausica in San Cesario di Lecce from July 13 to October 26, 2025. The program includes a July 12 event at Chiostro della Biblioteca Bernardini in Lecce featuring Palestinian artist Shayma Hamad (born 1997, Ramallah), curated by Giulia Turconi, in collaboration with Fondazione Merz in Turin and Polo Biblio-Museale di Lecce. A Palestinian cooking workshop with the artist follows on July 13. Subsequent residencies include Luigi Presicce's painting symposium (July 16–August 5), Ayreen Anastas and Rene Gabri's 'exitu' (August 6–24), Cesare Pietroiusti's 'Immaginare Elesusi' (August 26–September 3), Zoe De Luca Legge's 'Posidonieto' (September 4–16), Ilaria Mancia's 'Passaggi' (September 17–25), Juan Sandoval and Grazialba Di Summa's 'Hand follows nature' (September 28–October 4), Elena Campa's 'Ogni tanto mangio un fiore' (October 6–12), Davide Giacobbe's sensory language workshop (October 17–19), and Giuseppe Sannicandro and Corrado Chiatti's regenerative agriculture (October 20–26). Pietroiusti emphasizes the program's heterogeneity, mixing high and low culture, local and international perspectives, and multiple languages including painting, performance, and cooking, all rooted in the specific context of the house.
