Fondazione La Rocca appoints Simone Ciglia as Chief Curator, announces Ugo La Pietra and Claire Fontaine shows

Fondazione La Rocca in Pescara has appointed Simone Ciglia as Chief Curator, effective immediately. Ciglia, who previously curated Matteo Fato's exhibition at the foundation in 2025, will work alongside president Ottorino La Rocca to develop the artistic program. The foundation's 2026 season opens with 'Ugo La Pietra. Alla finestra' (June 16–October 3, 2026), curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, featuring some seventy works including paintings, photomontages, ceramics, and tapestries across six sections. The exhibition explores the window as a threshold between interior and exterior. A catalogue will be published by Allemandi. From December 19, 2026, to March 2027, the foundation will host 'Claire Fontaine. Manuale d’uso', a solo show curated by Ciglia based on Anita Chari's monograph, examining institutional critique, defunctionalization, and feminist materialism. Concurrently, the foundation launches FLR Incontra, a public program starting May 24, 2026, with Gianni Garrera's monologue 'Santità animale. San Francesco e la Natura', followed by events through September. On October 11, Antonio Pascale will perform 'Cose umane' based on his novel.
