Fondazione Fo Rame launches campaign for a dedicated museum

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-27

The Fondazione Fo Rame has initiated a campaign to establish a permanent museum dedicated to the extensive artistic heritage of Dario Fo and Franca Rame. According to their son, Jacopo Fo, numerous artworks from the Nobel laureate remain in inadequate storage. A commitment made in 2016 with Italy's Ministry of Culture to secure a larger venue has yet to be realized. Since 1993, the archive, officially housed at the State Archives of Verona since 2016, contains a variety of items, including audiovisual materials, awards, costumes, and sketches. The campaign has attracted endorsements from various artists, such as Paola Cortellesi and Marco Travaglio. Additionally, it seeks to honor the 50th anniversary of Mistero Buffo, first staged in 1969, which has been performed 574 times in 40 countries and translated into 16 languages. Supporters can participate by signing via email or submitting video messages.
