Fondazione Famiglia Zago opens art hub in former Asolo monastery
The Fondazione Famiglia Zago, owner of Pro-Gest S.p.A., has inaugurated its artistic activities at the Collegio, a 17th-century former Benedictine monastery in Asolo, Treviso. The foundation, with patronage from the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Asolo, and Italia Nostra Asolo, aims to merge enterprise with art. Artistic director and curator Mauro Perosin, an art historian and lecturer, orchestrates music, history, performance, and art events. Two inaugural exhibitions are on view: Concentrica by photographer Alessandra Bello (born 1985, Gemona del Friuli), featuring interior and exterior views of the monastery with a reflective installation by museum architect Gabriele Toneguzzi; and Soffio by Marcela Cernadas (born 1967, Campana), the first resident of the In Collegio project, with a site-specific installation in the former church of S. Luigi, including a sound art piece by Diego Carrer and a Murano glass work titled Cenacolo. The exhibitions highlight the dialogue between ancient and contemporary.
