Fondazione Elpis presents group show on dwelling with four resident artists in Milan

Fondazione Elpis in Milan has launched a residency program in May 2025, selecting four artists—Ornella Cardillo, Giuseppe Lo Cascio, Natalya Marconini Falconer, and Stella Rochetich—to reflect on the theme of dwelling. The residency, structured in two cycles through November 2025, provides housing, studio space, and local contacts. The resulting group exhibition, "A te non resta che abitare questo desiderio" (You have only to inhabit this desire), curated by Sofia Schubert, runs from November 13, 2025, to February 1, 2026, at Atelier Elpis in Milan. The artists explore the relationship between body, space, and memory through diverse media. Cardillo creates mobile sculptures activated by performance, referencing domestic rituals. Lo Cascio works with construction debris and dysfunctional machines to critique progress. Marconini Falconer evokes industrial and migratory memory using materials like copper and cedar. Rochetich installs copper peepholes emitting scent molecules to challenge modern hygiene's erasure of body odor. The foundation's initiative builds on its ongoing "Una Boccata d'Arte" program, which since 2020 has addressed depopulation, gentrification, and loss of local identity.
