Fondazione Elpis in Milan presents Central Asian artists in 'YOU ARE HERE'

In Milan, Fondazione Elpis is set to unveil 'YOU ARE HERE. Central Asia,' a collective exhibition showcasing the works of 27 artists from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, from October 24, 2024, to April 13, 2025. Curated by Dilda Ramazan and Aida Sulova, in partnership with Bruno Barsanti and Sofia Schubert, the exhibition delves into themes of identity, self-determination, and belonging through diverse mediums such as painting, sculpture, video, photography, performance, textiles, and site-specific installations. The featured artists, ranging from the 1940s to the early 2000s, include notable names like Munara Abdukakharova and Aïda Adilbek. The title draws on the familiar 'You Are Here' marker, symbolizing self-awareness amid global migration, following the foundation's 2022 exhibition on South Asian artists.
