Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro Hosts Biennale Collateral Event with Residency Artists

exhibition · 2026-04-26

For the 60th Venice Biennale, the Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro is presenting the collateral event "Per non perdere il filo. Karine N'guyen Van Tham – Parul Thacker" at Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, a 15th-century palace. Curated by Daniela Ferretti, the exhibition features site-specific installations by Franco-Vietnamese artist Karine N'guyen Van Tham (born 1988 in Marseille) and Indian artist Parul Thacker (born 1973 in Mumbai), both of whom completed residencies at the palace. Thacker's work comprises 18 hand-embroidered silk organza panels depicting mathematical and ancestral patterns, accompanied by a soundscape blending Rudra veena, Canal Grande noises, and Arctic waters recorded by the artist and reworked by Canadian composer Frank Horvat. N'guyen Van Tham is creating a mattress-like textile assemblage inspired by Venice's layered architecture and lagoon ecosystem, the first of a triptych exploring the city's visible and hidden strata. The exhibition runs from April 20 to November 24, 2024.
