Fondazione De Fornaris commissions new public artwork for GAM Turin's garden
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the Fondazione De Fornaris is set to create a new permanent installation at the GAM – Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Turin. Founded in 1982 by collector Ettore De Fornaris, the foundation has a history of commissioning notable public art, such as Tony Cragg's 'Punti di vista' for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics and Giuseppe Penone's 'In limine' for the 150th anniversary of Italian unification in 2011. An international jury will choose an Italian mid-career artist from a pool of ten candidates. Submissions are due by April 15, 2022, with the winner revealed in May, and the artwork set to debut in autumn 2022.
