Fondazione CRT for Art Renews Scientific Committee with International Experts
On September 20, 2019, the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT convened its new scientific committee for the first time, marking a renewed commitment to Turin's cultural heritage. The committee includes Francesco Manacorda, Beatrix Ruf, Sir Nicholas Serota, Manuel Borja-Villel, and new Honorary President Rudi Fuchs. Directors Carolyn Christov Bakargiev of Castello di Rivoli and Riccardo Passoni of GAM Galleria di Arte Moderna also attended. Founded in 2000 by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, CRT aims to support local and regional contemporary art through education, communication, and network events, while expanding its collection of over 850 works by 212 artists, valued at approximately €40 million. The collection is available on loan to Castello di Rivoli and GAM. Recent initiatives include the OGR Tech opening and the Chiese e Porte Aperte app. Francesco Manacorda, artistic director of V-A-C Foundation in Moscow and Venice, previously directed Artissima and Tate Liverpool. Beatrix Ruf, consultant for LUMA Foundation, formerly directed Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Rudi Fuchs, former director of Van Abbemuseum and documenta 7, was the first director of Castello di Rivoli from 1984 to 1990.
