Fondazione CRT allocates €2.5M to restore 150 heritage sites in Piedmont and Aosta Valley
Fondazione CRT has launched the Restauri Cantieri Diffusi grant, allocating €2.5 million to restore 150 movable and immovable heritage assets across Piedmont and Aosta Valley. Since 2003, the foundation has invested €37.5 million in 2,430 interventions. The 2017 edition prioritizes accessibility, tourism integration, and community fundraising. Selected projects include the Church of the Santissimo Sudario in Turin, co-financed by the National Italian American Foundation; the Alpine Religious Art Museum in Melezet at 1,367 meters; the Governor's Palace in Mondovì; the Sanctuary of the SS. Crocifisso del Boca in Novara province, which will host a permanent exhibition on architect Antonelli; the Basilica of San Vittore on Lake Maggiore; and the Church of San Giacomo della Vittoria in Alessandria, built with spoils from the 1391 victory over the French army. The foundation's Secretary General Massimo Lapucci emphasized the goal of safeguarding and making heritage accessible to wider audiences.
