Fondazione Coppola Opens in Vicenza's Historic Torrione di Porta Castello

exhibition · 2026-05-04

In May 2019, Vicenza will welcome the Fondazione Coppola, a new contemporary art foundation located within the historic Torrione di Porta Castello. Established by collector Antonio Coppola, the medieval tower was acquired and subsequently donated to the city, allowing for its transformation into an art venue, with renovations managed by UP3 Architetti Associati. The foundation's mission is to promote emerging artists and will debut with solo exhibitions featuring Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy, curated by Davide Ferri, from May 5 to August 31, 2019. This marks the first time both artists will showcase their works in Italy, drawing inspiration from the tower's unique architecture. Born in 1959, Coppola is listed in the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors as one of the top 250 independent collectors globally, with a collection that includes artists such as Uri Aran and Nathalie Djurberg.
