Fondazione Cirulli Opens with Futurist Survey in Bologna

The inaugural exhibition, 'Universo futurista,' has been launched by the Fondazione Massimo e Sonia Cirulli at the Castiglioni brothers' venue in San Lazzaro di Savena, Bologna. Curated by Jeffrey T. Schnapp and Silvia Evangelisti, this showcase reexamines Italian Futurism through various artistic and cultural artifacts. It features a vast array of thousands of posters, books, and documents. The layout includes a main hall displaying manifestos, magazines, and historical images, organized into eight 'costellazioni,' five 'orbite,' and eleven 'satelliti.' Key themes focus on movement and reproducibility, highlighting works from Fortunato Depero, Giacomo Balla, and Bruno Munari, while minimizing political messages. The foundation's acquisition of the building was previously announced.
