Fondazione Bvlgari Debuts at Venice Biennale with Dual Exhibitions
Fondazione Bvlgari makes its Venice Biennale debut with a collateral exhibition at the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, featuring site-specific works by Monia Ben Hamouda and Lara Favaretto. The show opens May 9 and runs through November 22, 2026, during the 61st International Art Exhibition. Ben Hamouda's "Fragments of Fire Worship" comprises two neon sculptures in the Vestibule, exploring illegible script as gesture and scar, reflecting her background as daughter of an Islamic calligrapher. Favaretto's "Momentary Monument – The Library" in the Salone Sansovino presents the seventh and final edition of her project, inviting public consultation of donated volumes selected for content density, each paired with an image from her archive. The initiative complements Bvlgari's role as exclusive partner of the Biennale for three editions until 2030, with a pavilion in the Giardini featuring Canadian artist Lotus L. Kang. A related work by Ben Hamouda, "Ya'aburnee" (Untranslated Fragment I), will be installed at Bvlgari Hotel Milano from April 27. Fondazione Bvlgari, established in 2024, aims to support both heritage preservation and contemporary art.
