Fondazione Braglia Celebrates 10 Years with Two Exhibitions in Lugano

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Fondazione Gabriele e Anna Braglia in Lugano presents two exhibitions featuring its extensive collection of 20th-century art. The first exhibition, titled "Da Sironi a Picasso," is on display until July 19, 2025, at the foundation's venue near LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, which was designed by Carlo Rampazzi. It showcases over sixty years of collecting, beginning with Mario Sironi's "Figura seduta," acquired in 1957, and includes works by notable German Expressionist artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, alongside pieces by Balla, Modigliani, and a recent addition—Picasso's early drawing "Jeune femme dans un café." An upcoming exhibition in autumn will highlight Paul Klee and German Expressionism. Established a decade ago, the foundation fosters art through various initiatives and collaborations with both Swiss and international institutions.
