Fondazione Bonotto Brings Sound Poetry to Palais de Tokyo
Fondazione Bonotto, based in Molvena (Vicenza), has long promoted the legacy of Fluxus, Concrete, Visual, and Sound Poetry. It arrives at Palais de Tokyo in Paris with an unprecedented multidisciplinary project that dialogues between experimental practices of the second half of the 20th century and contemporary ones. The exhibition, titled 'La voix libérée – Poésie sonore' (The Liberated Voice – Sound Poetry), poses the questions: 'How to remain human when the world multiplies?' and 'How to affirm one's singularity?' It features over 70 artists, including Arrigo Lora Totino (1928–2016), creator of the Liquimophone, a device generating Liquid Music and Liquid Poetry, and Tomomi Adachi (born 1972), who develops electronic devices for sound modulations that interact with the voice. The show explores poetry as an expressive form that can change with time and technological development without losing its necessity. From historical movements to new generations, disparate aesthetic forms are related to today's culture of mass media and communication society. During the exhibition, a day of performances and several collateral events will be organized. Curated by Eric Mangion and Patrizio Peterlini with artistic contribution by Annette Lenz, the exhibition runs until May 12, 2019 at Palais de Tokyo, 13 Avenue du Président Wilson, Paris.
