Fondazione Baruchello Celebrates 20 Years with Exhibition on Agricola Cornelia S.p.A.
Fondazione Baruchello marks its 20th anniversary with a show revisiting Gianfranco Baruchello's Agricola Cornelia S.p.A. project (1973–1981), which reclaimed land from real estate speculation for farming. Curated by Maria Alicata and Daniela Zanoletti at Via del Vascello 35, the exhibition also features 1970s works and unpublished documents. Director Carla Subrizi explains that the foundation, born in 1998 from Baruchello's encounter with her, transformed his studio into a public library, artist studios, and research spaces on 10 hectares. Since 2000, it has prioritized workshops and seminars over exhibitions, fostering artists like Fantin, Pietroiusti, Folci, Lopez-Cuenca, and Bonetto. In 2015, a new Rome space directed by Alicata diversified activities. Subrizi notes the foundation's role in reviving Baruchello's legacy, with recent shows at Galleria nazionale d'arte moderna (curated by Achille Bonito Oliva), Raven Row in London, Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Villa Arson in Nice, Mart in Rovereto, and collaborations with Massimo De Carlo. A general catalogue is in progress.
