Fondation Valmont Opens Permanent Venice Space at Palazzo Bonvicini
The Fondation Valmont, linked to the Swiss cosmetics giant and chaired by Didier Guillon, has established a permanent base in Venice after restoring Palazzo Bonvicini. The foundation previously held temporary exhibitions at Palazzo Passi in 2015 and 2017. The inaugural show at the new venue, "Hansel & Gretel ‒ White Traces In Search of Your Self," opened during the 58th Venice Biennale and features works by Guillon, Isao, and Silvano Rubino. The foundation plans to hold new exhibitions every year coinciding with the Art and Architecture Biennales. Guillon stated the foundation aims to consolidate its presence in Venice and work with local cultural institutions. He is a descendant of art dealer Charles Sedelmeyer and sculptor Stanislas Lami. His work "White Mirror" will be shown at Maisons Valmont in Tokyo, New York, and Monaco in autumn. The 2020 exhibition will include Silvano Rubino and Aristide Najean, who works with Murano glass.
