Fondation Cartier's 'Mondo Reale' Explores the Unknown at Triennale Milano
Curated by Hervé Chandès, artistic director of Fondation Cartier, 'Mondo Reale' brings together 17 contemporary artists at Triennale Milano. The exhibition delves into the mysteries of everyday life through a diverse range of media, including sculpture, painting, video, and installation. Notable works include Ron Mueck's 'Man in a Boat' (2002), Sarah Sze's 'Tracing Fallen Sky' (2020), and a sound installation by Patti Smith interpreting mathematician M. Gromov's 'The Four Mysteries of the World.' The exhibition design by Formafantasma uses recycled materials and paper walls to guide visitors. Films by Andrei Ujica, Artavazd Pelechian, and David Lynch are featured, with Lynch also presenting a daily weather report from his Los Angeles home. Sho Shibuya's 'Headlines 2020-2022' series, painted over New York Times covers, evolves throughout the show. The exhibition runs at Triennale Milano, with a special digital creation shared by Shibuya at its close.
