Fondation Cartier Retrospective Explores Moebius/Gir's Dual Artistic Identity
At the Fondation Cartier in Paris, the exhibition titled "Mœbius-Transe-forme" showcases a retrospective of Jean Giraud, also recognized as GIR and Moebius, and will be open until March 13, 2011. This display features a unique scenography inspired by the Möbius strip. Meanwhile, Galerie Slomka is exhibiting pages from Giraud's album "Arzak l'arpenteur," available until December 31. Giraud is celebrated for his work on Blueberry, which began in 1963, while Moebius is renowned for creating imaginative realms such as Arzak and L'Incal. The retrospective includes a film by Damian Pettigrew and Olivier Gal, alongside Moebius's directorial debut with the 3D short "La Planète Encore." Giraud reflects on his dual identity and creative influences, including a transformative experience with mushrooms in 1963, as the revival of Arzak is influenced by Moebius Productions, established with his wife Isabelle.
