Fondation Carmignac Presents 'The Inner Island' on Porquerolles

From April 29 to November 5, 2023, the Fondation Carmignac on Porquerolles presents 'The Inner Island' at Villa Carmignac. The exhibition explores the distancing from reality as a creative driver, featuring over 80 works by fifty artists from private and public collections, including the Carmignac collection and new productions. Works by Peter Doig, Anna-Eva Bergman, Ali Cherri, Auguste Rodin, Andrew Cranston, Verne Dawson, Francis Uprichard, Corentin Grossmann, Harold Ancart, Marcella Barceló, Tursic & Mille, and Christine Safa are included. Agnieszka Kurant's installation sculpted by termites appears under the water ceiling. Historical works from Porquerolles by Jean-Francis Auburtin, Henri-Edmond Cross, Bernard Pesce, Bernard Plossu, Darren Almond, and Jennifer Douzenel are also featured. The exhibition invites visitors to fill in gaps in their own way, confronting different worlds outside known geographies and temporalities.
