Fondation CAB Revives Supports/Surfaces Movement in Saint-Paul-de-Vence

In Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, the Fondation CAB is presenting "Partenaires particulaires," an exhibition curated by Hugo Vitrani from the Palais de Tokyo. This show revisits the historic Supports/Surfaces movement, which originated in the late 1960s through the efforts of Louis Cane, Daniel Dezeuze, Patrick Saytour, and Claude Viallat. This movement aimed to redefine painting and sculpture by emphasizing the canvas's materiality, moving away from illusionism. Additional founding members include André-Pierre Arnal, Vincent Bioulès, and others. The exhibition features approximately twelve historical Supports/Surfaces works alongside contemporary art from artists like Edith Dekyndt and Torkwase Dyson.
