Fondation Beyeler mounts Over the Rainbow for Eurovision 2025 in Basel
The Fondation Beyeler in Basel will present a special exhibition titled Over the Rainbow from May 9 to 18, 2025, to coincide with the Eurovision Song Contest hosted at the St. Jakobshalle from May 13 to 17. The group show draws from the museum's permanent collection, featuring works by Monet, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Picasso, Warhol, Rothko, Tillmans, Dumas, Bacon, and Basquiat that explore light, water, and color. A centerpiece is Ugo Rondinone's rainbow installation we are poems (2011) on the museum roof. Reduced admission and free entry for under-25s are offered, along with free English guided tours. The museum shop will release a limited edition of 75 copies of John Giorno's Poem Prints (2017). The exhibition celebrates the intersection of art and music, and the museum will also host its Sound Garden series starting June 25, with free Wednesday evening concerts throughout the summer.
