FONDAMENTA: Young Architecture Studio Focuses on Italy
In 2016, Francesca Gagliardi and Federico Rossi, both born in 1987, established FONDAMENTA in Milan following their initial collaboration on the Cantina dei 5 Sogni project in Monforte d'Alba with Matteo Clerici. They are alumni of the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and have acquired global experience working with Aires Mateus, Antón García-Abril, and Christian Kerez. Their latest endeavor is the SO-LE studio flagship store located in Portrait Milano, which was redesigned by Michele De Lucchi. FONDAMENTA concentrates its efforts on regions such as northern Italy, Campania, Sicily, and the Canary Islands. Additionally, they serve as Academic Guests at ETH Zurich, where they teach 'The economy of the project, forms of living,' promoting sustainability and a return to Vitruvian principles.
