festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The sixth edition of FOG Design+Art Fair will take place from January 17 to 20, 2019, at the Fort Mason Center for Arts in San Francisco. The fair, which focuses on contemporary art and design, has become a key event for the West Coast art community. This year, 53 galleries will participate, including 12 newcomers such as Petzel, Andrew Kreps Gallery, Anton Kern Gallery, Perrotin, and Hauser & Wirth. The selection committee received 95 applications, up from 45 galleries last year. Katie Page, a committee member, noted that the 2019 edition reflects FOG's growth over the past six years. The fair will open with a charity gala benefiting the architecture and design departments of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMoMA). San Francisco's cultural scene is expanding, with events like Untitled Art Fair, which launched a San Francisco edition in 2018, attracting over 50 exhibitors and 11,000 visitors. A study by Americans for the Arts reported that the city's arts and culture sector generates nearly $1.5 billion annually and supports over 39,000 full-time jobs.
