Focus Art Fair Returns to London's Saatchi Gallery with Immersive Installations

festival-fair · 2026-04-19

Focus Art Fair opens at London's Saatchi Gallery from October 10-13, 2024, featuring 30 exhibitors showcasing contemporary art experiences. Amsterdam-based artist Rein Kooyman presents Granite Installation #07 from his Navigating the Unseen series, suspending 2,000 stones with four kilometers of hemp string to represent his journey to France's National Parc des Écrins. Korean multidisciplinary artist Joonhong Min, represented by Hanmi Gallery, displays The Debris from The Future Past 01092019 (2020), reconstructing urban landscapes from abandoned objects painted in bold colors. Trung Bao and Harry Yeff (Reeps One), represented by Artnomad Curators, showcase Voice Gems: 1000 Year Archive, an ongoing project using a 200,000 particle system to transform voices into digital gemstones and physical sculptures, with contributions from Ai Weiwei, Sougwen Chung, Reggie Watts, and Will.i.am. The fair, which began in 2019, previously held a Seoul edition that blended physical and digital art including NFTs and metaverse experiences. Kooyman's installation involves returning each stone to its original location after the exhibition, symbolizing impermanence. Min's work explores urban claustrophobia and isolation through reconstructed debris. Bao and Yeff's first Voice Gem was created in 2018 from lovers' laughter for an engagement ring. The event emphasizes immersive experiences that connect art with personal engagement.
