Fluentum Collection Opens in Berlin with Guido van der Werve Solo Show
A new cultural venue, Fluentum Collection, has been inaugurated in Berlin, occupying 600 square meters within the historic Clayallee building, which once served as the Nazi air force headquarters and later symbolized the Cold War during the Berlin Airlift, coordinated by General Clay. The renovation was financed by Markus Hannebauer, a software developer born in 1976. The collection showcases works from artists such as Omer Fast, Hito Steyerl, and William Kentridge. The opening exhibition features six pieces from Dutch artist Guido van der Werve (born 1977, based in Berlin), including the newly created Number eighteen, a reflection on death and abandonment stemming from a 2016 cycling accident. The exhibition runs from April 25 to June 22, 2019, coinciding with Berlin Gallery Weekend (April 25–28), with visiting hours from 11 am to 6 pm at Clayallee 174, 14195 Berlin.
