Fluctuart: Paris Floating Street Art Museum Opens May 2019
Fluctuart, a floating museum dedicated to street art, will open in May 2019 on the left bank of the Seine at the foot of Pont des Invalides in Paris. Designed by Seine Design under architect Gérard Ronzatti, the 1,200-square-meter transparent, modular structure spans three decks inspired by ships. It features 850 square meters of exhibition space, a terrace with bar and panoramic views, a specialized bookshop by Christian Omodeo, and spaces for workshops, artist residencies, and lectures. The museum is free and open year-round, with permanent collections, temporary exhibitions, live performances, and cultural events. Directed by Nicolas Laugero Lasserre, a collector and urban art expert, Fluctuart aims to be a dynamic hub for street art, post-graffiti, and urban cultures. It was selected through the Réinventer la Seine initiative and is part of a broader plan to revitalize Parisian riverbanks. The project was led by Géraud Boursin, Nicolas Laugero Lasserre, and Éric Philippa. Partnerships include ICART for art market lectures. The exact artists for the opening are not yet announced, but the museum will host site-specific works and monographic shows. Fluctuart is located at 2 port du Gros Caillou, 75007 Paris.
