Flos Debuts Nocturne and Maap at Milan Design Week 2026

architecture-design · 2026-04-24

At Milan Design Week 2026, Flos presented two contrasting lighting collections: Nocturne by Konstantin Grcic and Maap by Erwan Bouroullec. Grcic's Nocturne is a modular system of hot-formed borosilicate glass and aluminum, inspired by moonlight and Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, offering floor, suspension, and wall-mounted configurations. Bouroullec's Maap uses an ultra-light fibrous material that can be manually reshaped via magnetic points, spanning up to three meters. It was shown in an immersive installation titled Sound of Chaos, with a video by Nicolò Terraneo. The collections were displayed at Flos Professional Space and the brand's flagship. Flos Executive Chairman Piero Gandini emphasized the designers' creative autonomy. Both installations run through April 26, 2026.
