Floridi Doria Pamphilj Family Launches Network of Italian Villages
The Floridi Doria Pamphilj family, known for palaces in Rome, Naples, Venice, and Genoa, has established the Associazione Genius Loci Floridi Doria Pamphilj to connect over 100 Italian towns linked to the noble lineage. The association's first project, Cultura nella Valle del Tevere, runs from November 2 to 18, featuring art and music events in six centers of the Tiber Valley, including areas hit by the 2016 earthquake (Norcia, Gubbio, Città di Castello, Montone, Alviano, Attigliano). The initiative aims to aid post-earthquake revival and promote hidden treasures in small towns. The association is an offshoot of the Floridi Doria Pamphilj Trust, founded by Donna Gesine Pogson Doria Pamphilj and Don Massimiliano Floridi, which previously launched the Premio Memorie# award bridging past and contemporary art. The new project opened with the exhibition Memorie#Confronti at Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera in Città di Castello, featuring Clavis Universalis by Jasmine Pignatelli, winner of the first edition. The association's president is Fulvio Gazzola, mayor of Dolceacqua (Imperia), which proposed the idea. The trust focuses on supporting small towns lacking resources for self-promotion, aiming to revive the aristocracy's historical role with cultural, not political, goals. Members include municipalities, cultural associations, parishes, companies, and individuals. The next phase will involve Emilia Romagna in spring.
