Florence's Statues Speak in Lockdown Video Tribute

The video project 'To humans, from Florence – Un video per Firenze' offers a statue's-eye view of Florence emptied by the COVID-19 pandemic. Created by communication studio Riprese Firenze under the patronage of the Comune di Firenze and with support from Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau and Toscana Promozione Turistica, the film imagines the city's sculptures observing deserted piazze, streets, and bridges. Art director Matteo Gazzarri describes it as a love poem to the city, born from the desire to contribute during a difficult time. The project shifts perspective to see Florence through the eyes of its statues, conveying hope and comfort while recalling the crowds and flashbulbs of normal times.
