Florence's Mobile Library Bibliobus Resumes Service
Since November 2, Florence's mobile library service Bibliobus has resumed operations, bringing approximately 3,000 volumes to various city neighborhoods. The service, which targets all age groups, includes fiction, non-fiction, leisure reading, comics, and audiobooks. The route has been updated based on user requests, adding stops at Piazza delle Cure and Le Piagge. Culture councilor Tommaso Sacchi emphasized the importance of maintaining cultural services during the pandemic. Bibliobus originated in 1995, conceived by BiblioteCaNova Isolotto in collaboration with the University of Florence's Department of Adult Education. It was expanded citywide in 2018. Access is free; users can borrow up to three items for 30 days, renewable for another 30. Safety measures against COVID-19 are in place.
