Florence's Accademia and Bargello Museums Unite into New Mega-Pole
In Florence, the Galleria dell'Accademia and Museo Nazionale del Bargello, along with six additional museums, have come together under the leadership of director Andreina Contessa. This newly formed system encompasses the Medici Chapels, Orsanmichele, Palazzo Davanzati, Casa Martelli, and the former church of San Procolo, showcasing 50,632 artworks across 18,610 square meters of exhibition space. In 2025, the museums attracted over 3 million visitors. Starting February 1, 2026, ticket prices will rise, and cumulative tickets will be offered from March 15, 2026. The unified opening hours are set from 8:15 to 18:50, Tuesday through Sunday. Additionally, thirty new employees have been recruited, and three thematic itineraries are set to debut in May 2026, alongside various restoration initiatives.
