Florence Ostende named Head of Artistic Department at Mudam Luxembourg
Mudam Luxembourg (Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean) has welcomed Florence Ostende as its new Head of Artistic Department. This decision came after an extensive international search led by a jury, which included local and international members and was chaired by Bettina Steinbrügge, the museum’s director. Currently serving as a curator at the Barbican Art Gallery in London, Ostende has organized notable exhibitions such as Carrie Mae Weems: Reflections for Now (2023) and Noguchi (2021). Her upcoming exhibition on Francis Alÿs is set to debut at the Barbican in June 2024 before moving to the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto. Ostende previously held the position of Adjunct Curator at Dallas Contemporary and taught theory and art history at HEAD Genève. She will assume her new role on 15 April.
