Florence Institute of Design International showcases student projects
The Florence Institute of Design International (FIDI) has presented a series of interior design projects by BA Interior Design students, focusing on therapeutic and community-oriented spaces. Among the featured works is the NODO Therapy Centre by Afroditi Giama, a rehabilitation centre for teenagers and young adults struggling with addiction, designed with multiple pathways and a muted primary colour scheme. Other projects include a Holistic Health Centre by Amy Gudino, a Domestic Abuse Shelter by Andrea Annabella Studic in Greve in Chianti, Italy, a hobby centre called The Hive by Beren Baymaku for young adults in Florence, The Legacy Centre by Carolina Perez emphasizing intergenerational inclusivity, a Creative Hub by Dominka Yushchenko using biophilic design, Oasis by Elainne Degraff focusing on cultural sustainability, Centre Hygieia by Eva Konstantinou for women recovering from domestic abuse, Solace Grief Centre by Sofia Vincenza Federico guiding through the five stages of grief, and Wilhelmina Nursing Home by Wietske Nadine Romijn for individuals with dementia. The projects were developed over 30 weeks as part of a Design Research Project, each proposal ranging from 2000 to 3000 square metres. The three-year BA Interior Design programme is accredited by Goldsmiths, University of London. Tutors include Federico Grazzini, Giovanni Pierantoni, and Alejandro Amador.
