Flemish Contemporary Art: From Jan Fabre to Luc Tuymans

This piece explores the enduring impact of Flemish art from the 15th century up to the present day, highlighting a continuous thread of creativity. The exhibition 'Feast of Fools. Bruegel Rediscovered' took place at the Castle of Gaasbeek in Brabant and wrapped up in July, examining how Bruegel has shaped later artists, including modern names like Dirk Braeckman and Jimmie Durham. At the 2019 Venice Biennale, Ralph Rugoff presented 'Mondo Cane' by Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys in the Belgian Pavilion. In 2017, Jan Fabre displayed 'Glass and Bone Sculptures 1977-2017' at the Abbey of San Gregorio.
